On February 11, 2013, a very special light went out, only to shine much brighter in Heaven. Rosemary Sedler Keltner, 86, of Kansas City, MO died peacefully with her family by her. She brought them so much love through the years with her deep devotion and tender-hearted ways. She was a tower of strength when needed and a source of endless joy.
Rosemary was born one of seven children to John and Frances Sedler. She attended St. Anthony’s School and Bishop Ward High School in Kansas City, KS.
Rosemary loved acting, singing and dancing, writing, music and her artwork.
During World War II, she worked at the Army Medical Depot where she met her future husband, Loren. They were engaged four years until his return from service and were married September 27, 1947 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Kansas City, KS.
They raised a large family in a home full of fun times, some trying times, and lots of loving pets. Rosemary was a wonderful, kind mother with a disposition so sweet her children thought she must be a saint! Her only weakness… dark chocolate!
Lively and creative, she filled their lives with special memory after special memory. A devout Catholic, Rosemary was truly “Mary’s Rose”.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Donna and sons Terry, Bill and “Baby Boy”. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Loren, who woke her each morning asking, “So, how’s the most beautiful girl in the world?’; her children, Jeff, Steve and wife, Mary; and daughter, Rebecca, all of Kansas City, MO; a sister, Frances Engel, and brother, Paul Sedler, both of Kansas City, KS.
“Dear God, thank you for the blessing of Rosemary Keltner. She has been the dearest person you could have created. It is with sadness and loss that we let go now, but trust that you and the Blessed Virgin Mary will wrap her in your loving arms and give her all the peace and joy she so deserves. In Jesus name we pray, Amen”.
Mass of Christian burial will be 11am, Saturday, February 16, 2013 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 4737 N. Cleveland, Kansas City, MO. Visitation will be 6-8pm, Friday, February 15, 2013 with the Rosary to be prayed at 7pm, at McGilley Antioch Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Sister Servants of Mary.
