The Rosary will be prayed Friday, January 31st, 2014 at 5:30 p.m., in St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11822 Holmes Rd, KCMO, with visitation following until 8 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 1, 2014 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Burial following in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Rosemarie was born on July 13, 1913, in Kansas City, MO, where she lived all her life. She attended Holy Name Grade School and graduated from St. Aloysius High School in 1930. She married Robert (Barney) Maguire on November 28, 1933. She took pride in being a mother and raising her family. She co-founded with Barney, Allied Concrete Products, a 68 year old business, being run today by their descendants. After retiring in the late 70’s she volunteered at Good Shepherd Manor & Seton Center Thrift Stores, worked on the funeral luncheon committee at STM, was a member of More Friends and The Ladies of Charity. Rosemarie enjoyed going to the casinos, playing cards with family, bowling and she was world famous for her crocheted scrubbies.
Rosemarie was preceded in death by her loving husband of 75 years, Robert (Barney) Maguire; her parents Frank & Antonia (Mutter) Meiners; sisters, Margaret Kaegi, Grace Heier, Clara King, Mildred Meiners, Myrnie Sokol Sugnet; brothers, Frank, Henry and James Meiners; sons-in-law, Bill Garies and Mike Furey; grandchildren, Mickey Furey & Amy Furey; and great grandchild, Cristina Furey.
Rosemarie is survived by her daughters; Shiloh Garies, Esta Setter (Dave), Judy Furey, Kathy Maguire (Tom Fritts), 17 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren and 1 on the way; sister, Teresa Scheerer (Dick); brother, Bob Meiners; sister-in-law, Frances Cowick.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care, 9221 Ward Parkway, Suite 100, KCMO 64114, St. Thomas More or the charity of your choice.
