Rosalee Ann Bailey, who was born in Dodge City, Kansas October 29,1935, passed away on December 18, 2022 in Raymore, Missouri. She began her college studies at the University of Kansas in Lawrence and, a couple decades later, received a B.A. in Education at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Working with children was always a priority in her life, whether as a substitute teacher in the Hickman Mills School District or teaching Bible School during summers with her beloved St. Luke’s United Methodist Church. She sang for many years in the church choir, culminating with a performance at an assembly of church choirs at Carnegie Hall in New York City. She loved going to the theater as well and enjoyed many shows on Broadway and London’s West End. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Virginia Gibbens; her brother Jack Gibbens; her first husband Paul Walker; her youngest son David; and her second husband Mercer Bailey, with whom she oversaw a lovely blended family often gathered at their Lake Winnebago home for fishing and boating. She is survived by son Steve Walker; daughter Leanne Barry and husband Jim Barry;daughter in law Mary Walker; stepdaughter Marci Bailey; stepdaughter Lynn Kruse and her husband Kevin Kruse; and five adored grandchildren: Jason Nickles, Alison and Austin Kruse, and Lauren and Katie Walker. She is also survived by a multitude of church friends known collectively as the Birthday Girls. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Floral Hills Funeral Home, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, MO, 64133
