Ron was born on October 22, 1971, to Ronald K. Gulick, Sr. and Mary (Davis). He graduated from North Kansas City High School in 1989. He went on to receive his Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Technology/Maintenance Management from the University of Central Missouri. Although he began his career washing planes at the Kansas City Downtown Airport, he made quick work of getting his private pilot’s license. Flying soon became his passion and he went on to become Chief Pilot, and later, Flight Instructor. After the birth of his son, Ron’s hard work ethic and sense of brotherhood took him in a new direction as he became a proud union member of the Laborers’ Local 264. He often volunteered his time working the political campaigns and spreading awareness regarding issues that were important to his union.
Ron was preceded in death by his father, Ronald K Gulick, Sr. and his loyal service dog, Meade. He is survived by his wife and partner, Christa Dujakovich- Gulick; and their son, Jack Michael. His mother, Mary Gulick; sisters, Shannon Shelton (Harry), Amanda Gulick (Tony Vaka); as well as 21 nieces and nephews; and his best friend, Rex.
He volunteered his time at Challenge Air for several years. This annual event provided the gift of flight to children with special needs in an effort to get them to see their true potential, and for them to consider, if they could fly an airplane – they just might be able to do anything!
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.McGilleySheil.com for the Gulick family.
