He will be greatly missed by the so many people that he made a difference in their lives for the better.  I will always  remember his gentle smile and the goodness in his eyes.  He was truly a good man and I am lucky to have known him. Remember that he is not far away from you.  He is an angel watching over you now.

He was more than a friend to me and my family. Roland taught me many things, most importantly how to be a good man and a great husband. Our thoughts are with the Mayer family.  Roland Sr. will be missed by many, but never forgotten.

On behalf of our family, I extend condolesences to Mrs. Mayer, RPM Jr.& family.  I'll never forget Rolands keen intellect, & sense of humor, his pranks & generosity. When I worked at the then Bendix Corp. in the early 1980's, it was customary for vendors to bring donuts on their sales calls, & on one occassion, while sitting in my office, Roland noted that one of his competitors, having brought several dozen donuts, was out to to the vending machines to buy coffee for 5 or 6 Buyers/Engineers.  Roland borrowed my tape, & taped his BEST TOOL business card on the box of donuts. When the competitor & Buyers arrived back, everyone was thanking Roland for the donuts he passed out, & he inquired of the competitor, "Where is MY coffee"?.  He kept us laughing!!  We'll never forget his Christmas parties, humor or generosity.  More than his brilliance & kindness, he was proud of his family.  God Bless you & yours.

For Tante Ruth, Pete, Karin and your families - Please accept my deepest condolences on the passing of your Husband, your Father, and your Opa. I have many fond memories of my Onkel Roland, especially when our families gathered when we were younger. Whether it was a trip you made up to Winnipeg and Red Rock Lake, or where we made our way down to Kansas City, those were all special times which I hold near and dear to me. As years went by, those gatherings became fewer and further apart, as our families grew and time with our loved ones became very precious. 
Onkel Roland was always a generous man. He was also a man who really loved life. His love for life was almost contagious, as it spread quickly to the people around him, and it is with that trait, I will always fondly remember him, and he will always hold a special place in my thoughts and in my heart.

I first met Roland when he was 42 years old. I have now worked for him for almost 40 years total. During this time, although I have had many opportunities elsewhere I have stayed within this "Family".His guidance has been a blessing to me and my family. I still smile when I recall 30 years ago, Roland wandering around the shop singing a Rod Stuart song. No doubt about it, he will be missed and well remembered.
