Rodney Palmer "Manny" was a fisherman, mechanic, and carpenter who transitioned from this earth July 17, 2020. A native of Kansas City, Kansas and attended grade school, junior high and high school in Kansas City, Kansas.
Willing and proud to serve his country, Rodney joined the Marine Corp (Simper Fi) and served 2 tours in Vietnam. The Marine Corp instilled discipline and pride, which you could see in all of his projects, whether it was barbecuing, fishing, repairing machinery and repairing automobiles. His attention to detail was legendary; he started a project and would not rest until it was finished.
Rodney is survived by his wife Brenda Silas-Palmer, 4 children; Gerald (Barbara) Palmer, Tania (Mark) Williams, Adria Palmer, and Carman Palmer, 7 grandchildren, and 1 great grandson. Celebrating his life are 6 sisters; Carolyn (Lee Jay) Lindsey, Joyce (Herbert) Dickens, Jacquelyn (Vervice) Mitchell, Jo Ann (Randall) Robinson, Marie Crawford, and Gloria Hunter; 2 brothers, Delano (Eula) Palmer and Charles Crawford III; plus many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
