Roberta E. Hurt

Roberta E. Hurt, 102, of Overland Park, Kansas, died Thursday, December 18, 2014. Roberta was born October 5, 1912, in Robstown, Texas. She was a homemaker and a graduate of Kansas City Business College. Prior to her marriage to Glen Hurt in 1942, she was employed in the publishing business at the Clinton (Missouri) Eye Newspaper and later the Potts-Turnbull Advertising Agency in Kansas City. Roberta moved to Arizona in 1985 from Leawood, Kansas, and relocated to Overland Park in 2011.

Roberta was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Glen, who passed away in January, 2011, and her siblings, Lydia Graham, Charles Helwig and Lewis Helwig. She is survived by her son, Michael of Lexington, Massachusetts; son, Dale of Overland Park; brother, Robert Lee Helwig of Kansas City; brother, Lyle Helwig of Appleton City, Missouri; and granddaughter, Jessica Ann Hurt of Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Memorial services will be held at McGilley State Line, date and times are pending. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
