Robert J. Smith

Robert J. Smith, 58, of Independence, MO passed away April 18, 2018. Robert was born November 29, 1959 to Bob and Helen Smith in Kansas City, MO. He graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1978. He met his wife Catherine "Katie" and they married on September 23, 1983. Robert spent 25 years working at AGC Flat Glass. He loved to fish, had a passion for sports, especially the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals, but his greatest joy was watching his children play their sports.

Robert is survived by his wife of 34 years, Katie Smith; son Justin and Sarah Smith; daughter Katie Smith and Mandi Greene; mother Helen Wisehart; brother Mark and Gail Smith; uncle Curtis Raines, along with nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other family and friends.

Visitation will be 5-8pm, Monday, April 23, 2018 at Maywood Baptist Church, 10505 E. Winner Rd, Independence, MO 64052. Funeral services will be 10am, Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at the church. Burial in Blue Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions to Maywood Baptist Church, for all the beautiful work they do in carrying out God's plan.
