Dorothy was born to Lawrence and Frances Whited on November 6, 1937, in Grandview, MO. She graduated from Pleasant Hill High School in 1955. For 25 years, Dorothy enjoyed her day job, working as an accountant for the Department of Agriculture, but her “real” career was spending time with her family, riding around in street rods Bob refurbished, traveling around the country, cheering on Lenny Dawson and the Chiefs, being involved in the church, and going on “girls” trips with her daughters, granddaughters, great granddaughter and niece also known as the “Sisterhood of the Traveling Crown” club!
Bob was born to Hallie and Raymond Sipes on February 23, 1937, in Ft. Scott, KS. He was an Air Force Veteran. He was considered one of the lucky ones who was able to turn his passion of upholstery into a lifelong career. Using his creativity, ingenuity, and hard work, he restored and customized cars, hot rods, street rods, motorhomes, boats, and buses. His work was featured in numerous hot rod, street rod and bus magazines which earned him notoriety across the United States. People drove from the coast to the midwest just to have Bob Sipes upholster their car. His motto was he could upholster anything from a brick to a battleship.
Dorothy and Bob were preceded in death by their parents, sister Judy (Whited) Bell; brother, Bodean Sipes; infant granddaughter Ramona Greer; and great grandson, Donovan Brashear.
Dorothy and Bob leave behind 4 daughters, Julie Greer (Charlie) of Harrisonville, MO; Cindy Dove (Dale) of Belton, MO; Teresa Ramirez (Ron) of Mission, KS; and Vickie Bollinger (Ronnie) of Harrisonville, MO; 14 grandchildren, Becky McClintock (Jay), Bobbi Greer (Ian Meade), Charlie Greer Jr (Heidi), Jake Greer (Jasmyn), Robert Dove, Christina Rossiter, Kyle Brashear (Heather), Kevin Brashear, Keith Brashear, Kurt Brashear (Priscilla), Makayla Hause (Dwight), Sabrina Renner (Brice), Alisha Philipsheck (Austin), Miranda Gullikson (Mitchell); 22 great grandchildren, Weston, Bradley and Kensley McClintock, Audrey Goddard (Forrest Miller), Luke and Lane Meade, Everett, Nolan, and Bennett Greer, Cayden, Liam and Harrison Rossiter, Alaina and Landon Brashear, Brecklyn and Briar Renner, Salem, Bowen and Ryle Hause, Layton, Greyson and Mallory Philipsheck, brothers Larry Whited, Wayne Whited, Tony Sipes (Fanitta), sisters Janan Staub (Larry), June Bowles (Lee), many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
