Robert Allan Pantoja, age 69, of Mission, Kansas, passed away on April 11, 2024. After many ailments later in life, Robert ultimately succumbed to Lemierre Syndrome. He died surrounded by his family and friends.
Robert was born in Kansas City, Missouri and graduated from Northeast High School. He was veteran of the Navy and proudly served on the USS Roosevelt and USS Oriskany. There he learned his skill of electrical mechanics. After the Navy, Robert worked at Southwestern Bell/AT&T as a lineman and splicer for 30 years until his retirement in 2009.
Robert loved watching boxing, the Royals and he never missed a Chiefs game on TV. He enjoyed hanging out with his friends from the Westside and collecting bobble heads at the Royals games. What Robert loved the most in life were his two daughters. If he wasn’t the coach of their sports team, he surely never missed a game. He was always the first to start the wave. Once his grandchildren were born, you could always find him with candy in his pockets, ready to spoil them.
Robert is survived by siblings, Joan, Mary, Jerry Pantoja; daughters, Andrea Raya (Louis) and Sonia Wilson (Alex); grandchildren, Maricela, Henry, and Alicia; his nieces, Teresa Jo Pantoja and Alyssa Perez; and all his great and great-great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Joe, and mother, Helen Pantoja.
Services will be held at St. Pius X Church at 5500 Woodson Rd, Mission, KS on Friday, April 26, 2024. Visitation at 10:00 a.m. and memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Kansas City, KS. Reception will follow at St. Pius Glowacki Room.
