I met Nick in the Pipefitters Apprenticeship Program. We were selected to be in a small class of guys who went to school all day for a long time, as well as attending the regular night classes. We did this to learn how to service large commercial and industrial systems on our own, so our contractors could make a little more money on us (and to help combat the non union competition).  Nick was one of the stars in our class. After I moved inside in my own family business, Nick came to work there and I made specific requests for him to do my startup work. He was a great mechanic, a great friend, a funny, funny man and I too will miss him always. 

I was the new 5th grader at Christ the King when I met Nick. My mom knew his mother well so we already had a connection. Nick affectionately started calling me "Meatball" when we were kids. Nick was one of the nice guys at Christ the King and was an intelligent kid and always very funny! One of my favorite memories of Nick is dancing to "Wipeout" with him on a table at our 8th grade graduation much to our chaperoning mothers' chagrin!

I met Kezie in 9th grade and we have been friends ever since. Kezie was so kind to me as I navigated the strange new environment of junior high. Love you Kezie and will always hold Nick near and dear in my heart!


Nick and I went to school together at Christ the King and our mothers were very good friends and even shared room mother responsibilities one year.  I remember Nick giving me the album "Thick as a Brick" by Jethro Tull when I was a young teen.  It was my first rock album and got me listening to music beyond The Carpenters.  I am so sorry for your family's loss.    

A few years ago, we met Nick and Kezie through Adrienne. Adrienne became Bob’s wife and Nick and Kezie’s daughter-in-law. Over the years of shared impromptu family breakfasts, lunches, and family gatherings we got to know Nick and Kezie and love them as our extended family. As we got to know Kezie and Nick, we developed a bond and an abiding affection. The times that Nick and I talked privately, he was always quick with a smile and a joke and he always looked for the humor in life. I never saw Nick that he didn’t have a smile of his face. Nick’s spirit and humor endeared Nick to me and our entire family.

Nick we will always remember you with deep affection! My friend Nick, my fellow grandpa, you will be missed!

I agree with Brian. I never saw Nick without a smile on his face. I remember Nick from our days at Center. He was funny and was always a good guy to be around. I am glad that I had the chance to talk to Nick again a couple of times a few years ago. I hope Nick is at peace now. My heart goes out to Kezie and the rest of the family. I pray that you will find the strength to get through this difficult time. We will miss you Nick!

I don't know if there was ever a time that I didn't see a smile on this mans face.  There are many people I have had the pleasure of knowing and loving as friends and he sure was one.  God bless you Nick. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. You will be missed.

Kezie and Nick were always kind and excepting of me.  Life can be difficult but having people like them show care and respect made such a difference in who I became!
