Dr. Bob spent much of his life in Pittsburg, Kansas where he graduated from high school. He then went on to graduate from the University of Missouri School of Dentistry.
Dr. Bob was passionate about his career as a dentist. He had a private practice in Pittsburg. He then fulfilled a long-standing professional goal to teach at the UMKC School of Dentistry where he had an interesting engaging career. As a UMKC professor, he opted to continue his career until retiring in his mid-80s.
Dr. Menchetti is preceded in death by his wife Ladine Menchetti, his parents and siblings. He is survived by his daughter Marisa “Missi” Menchetti Camp and her husband David; his son Robert Paul Menchetti, his wife Terri and their daughters Stephanie, Samantha and Brooklyn; his stepson Louis D. Steele, his wife Rachael and their daughters Elizabeth and Julie; his stepdaughter Linda Steele Phinney, her husband Mike and her son John and daughter Kelly. Dr. Menchetti is also survived by a growing number of great-grandchildren.
Dr. Bob loved life and lived it to the fullest. He enjoyed traveling the world by playing competitive bridge and was an avid loyal KC Royals and KC Chiefs fan. Dr. Bob was known for his big, lively personality and fun sense of humor.
Dr. Bob lived for many years in the Kingswood Senior Community and enjoyed wonderful lasting friendships with many others in the community.
The family extends their gratitude to all who provided excellent care to Dr. Bob, including the Kingswood staff and Ascend Hospice. Bob and family appreciate the support of the Country Club United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial gifts to Ascend Hospice, Lee’s Summit, MO and the Country Club United Methodist Church, Kansas City, MO.
Saturday, September 9th there will be a Memorial and Celebration of Life service for Dr. Bob held at Kingswood Senior Living Community in Westminster Hall from 1:00-3:00 pm. Kingswood Senior Living Community, 10000 Wornall Road, Kansas City, MO 64114. The family will have a private burial service.
Dr. Bob will be greatly missed; however he will remain in the hearts of those who loved him and those whose lives he touched.
