Robert Nelson Covey joined his soul mate in the clearing at the end of his path Friday, December 16th. Bob was born in Kansas City Dec 9th, 1935 to Herbert and Edna Covey and graduated Central High School in 1954. That same year he married the love of his life, Betty Marlene Covey, and spent the next 61 years raising his family and providing a wonderful life for his wife. Bob worked at the United States Postal Service early in his career and retired from United Parcel Service in 1997. Bob was probably best known for his generosity, sense of humor, and the ability to make friends anywhere he went. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Donald, and his wife, Betty. He is survived by his son, Robert A.(Betty), daughter Karen Axford(John), grandchildren, Thomas, Sarah, and Ryan. Visitation will be held at Floral Hills of Raytown, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd., Wednesday, Dec. 21 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Dec. 22. At 10:00 followed by interment on site.
