Robert “Bob” Cooper, age 80 of Blue Springs MO passed away on August 24. 2016. Funeral services will be on September 3, 2016 at Floral Hills Funeral Home and Cemetery at 7000 Blue Ridge Boulevard, Kansas City, MO. The visitation will be start at 1:00 p.m. and service will be at 2:00 p.m., performed by Rev. John Gradwal. Burial will take place after the service at Floral Hills Cemetery. Bob suggested contributions to Great Plains SPCA in Merriam Kansas. Bob was born on May 14, 1936 in Kansas City, Missouri. at the old Research Hospital, the only child of William J. and Gladys Bahr Cooper. He attended E. F. Swinney Grade School and Southwest High School. He then attended K. U. where he was a member of Phi Kappa Tau social fraternity. Bob served for four years in the U. S. Army, active and reserves, as a Military Intelligence Specialist. He married the former Dorothy Haley in 1967 and that marriage ended in 1983. They remained friends. After several years as a Credit Manager of Halls in Kansas City, Missouri, Bob began a 31 year career in banking as Assistant Auditor of the former Commerce Trust Company in Kansas City, Mo., Senior Bank Examiner with the Missouri Division of Finance, retiring as a Senior Bank Examiner with the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. He was a graduate of the American Institute of Banking, various banking schools, and was a Certified Financial Examiner. He enjoyed his bank work at the Fed and the friends he made there. In his leisure time Bob enjoyed dancing at the American Legion and Vesper Hall Senior Center, where he was an officer on the Vesper Hall Site Council. He liked to laugh and tell often told one liner jokes with his coffee buddies at the Waffle House, Hy-Vee and Vesper. Most of all Bob enjoyed spending time with his loving companion of 22 years, Francine L. Bizal of Blue Springs and her family. Bob is survived by Francine, cousins and many friends.
