Richard Lee "Richie" Smith, 98, passed away on Friday, November 15th, 2019.
Richie was born on April 18, 1921 in Kansas City, Missouri and was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Northeast High School in 1939 and then studied business in Junior College. He served in the United States Navy during World War II for four years, 29 days and 30 minutes as a Chief Shop Keeper.
Returning to Kansas City, Richie worked for Butler Manufacturing for 20 years selling outdoor advertising. He retired in 1982 from Federal Sign and Signal Corporation.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Sidney and his companion of 50 years Helen Phillips. He leaves behind many loving family and friends, including his lifelong friend, Noreen Denney.
His hobbies included playing golf and following all sports and the Stock Market.
