Richard Lee Fowler, 51, Independence, Missouri, passed away October 15. 2014. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 5, at Mt. Moriah Cemetery South, 10507 Holmes Road.
Richard was born in Kansas City, Kansas to Richard and Dorothea Mae Fowler. He worked as a meat cutter. Richard loved people and never met a stranger.
As a Civil War enthusiast, he was a re-enactor and also enjoyed painting Civil War figurines. One of his favorite pastimes was going to movies with his daughter. He was a BBQ competitor and was a past American Royal winner in the ribs category. He loved his dog, Buddy.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his daughter, Kate, of Overland Park, Kansas.
