Rick was a graduate of Bishop Hogan High School in Kansas City, MO. After graduation, he served his country as a US Marine. After the military, he became a commercial/residential painter by trade and enjoyed the outdoors.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Margaret “Margie” Ahrens; and two brothers, Chuck and Steve.
Rick is survived by his wife, Debra “Debbie” Ahrens; son, Mike Ahrens (Erin) of Lee’s Summit, MO; sister, Mary Goff (Dan) of Blue Springs, MO; 2 grandchildren; two nephews, Kris Wiles (Tara) of Lee’s Summit, MO and Tim Wiles of Taylor, MI; and one great-nephew.
A Celebration of his Life will be held from 1-3 pm on Saturday, February 15, at Floral Hills Funeral Home, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO.
