He was born in St. Louis, Missouri and became the son of Donna and Merle Jensen in 1960. He attended Pattonville High School in St. Louis, joined the US Marine Corps in 1972 and served through the end of the Vietnam War. He had been a resident of Harrisonville for twenty-four years.
Randy was a great lover of nature, the outdoors, animals, and fishing. He always found something new and interesting to observe outdoors. He was an avid gardener and a sometime wood worker. His interest in history, especially the Civil War era and pursued the study of these for many years. He could work a thousand piece jigsaw puzzle in a few days, loved Oldies music and old black and white movies.
Randy had pursued his family’s genealogy in recent years and found their history both fascinating and poignant. He continued to be involved with veterans of the war, as well as many friends from high school, and extended family members across the country.
Randy is preceded in death by his parents, Donna and Merle Jensen. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne of Harrisonville, Missouri; daughter, Jamie Allison of Troy, Missouri; sons: Todd Schroeder, of Kansas City; Ron Schroeder, of Paola, Kansas; Burke Schroeder, of Overland Park, Kansas; ten grandchildren will miss him greatly. His kind patience and native simplicity will remain as a legacy to his family and friends.
Private graveside service. Burial at Mt. Moriah Cemetery South, Kansas City, Missouri. Remembrances to KC Pet Project and the Kansas City Zoo rather than flowers will be appreciated by the family.
