Randy was born June 28, 1938, in Kansas City, Missouri. He was the oldest of three sons born to Gilbert and Helga Pugh. He married Charlene O'Bannon of Kansas City, Missouri on June 17, 1961, and they were married more than 43 years.
Randy graduated from Northeast High School in Kansas City, Missouri and the University of Missouri (Columbia, Missouri) where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He worked as a Mechanical Engineer in the manufacturing plant for AT&T in Lee's Summit, Missouri for 30 years. He retired from AT&T in December 1989 and worked for Allied Signal Corp. until he was forced to retire after becoming disabled with Multiple Sclerosis. He fought his M.S. for 27 years during which time he received loving care from his beautiful wife Charlene until her passing on August 18, 2004.
Randy was a Registered Professional Engineer, a member of The Tribe of Mic-O-Say of the Boy Scouts of America, a member and Deacon of The First Baptist Church of Raytown, Missouri, National Wildlife Society, Northeast High School and University of Missouri Alumni Associations, and both Local and National Chapters of the Multiple Sclerosis Society. He enjoyed camping with his family and bass fishing Missouri Lakes with friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his bother Tom and his wife, Charlene. He is survived by son, Jeff Pugh, of Overland Park, Kansas and daughter, Megan Sundbom and son-in-law, Todd of Olathe, Kansas, his brother Dennis Pugh and wife Sandy of Kansas City, Missouri, and sister-in-law Sue Pugh of Vancouver, Washington, and his grandchildren Morgan and Melanie Pugh and Spencer and Gabrielle Sundbom.
He will be laid to rest beside his wife immediately after the ceremony.
