Rafael Pizano

Rafael Pizano, age 54, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2024. Rafael was born in Guanajuato, Mexico and moved to Kansas City in 1986. After working at Weld Wheel, he worked as a supervisor at Isle of Capri for 10 years. He was a remodeler and handyman and later became a stay-at-home Dad. During that time he followed his passion and began working as a horse trainer (Cuadra Fantasma), traveling to Omaha, Iowa, Wichita and Dodge City.

Rafael loved classic cars, dancing, Professional Bull Riding, the Kansas City Chiefs and spending time with family.

He was preceded in death by a son, Juan Jose; his parents, Francisco and Ma Socorro; and his grandparents, Jesus Nunez, Carmen Campos, Pedro Pizano, Fabliana Reyes. Rafael is survived by his wife, Maria; a son, Rafael; a daughter, Vanessa; a granddaughter, Catalina; brothers, Adan, Juan; sisters, Eva, Francisca, Genoveva, Socorro, Guadalupe, Maribel and Patricia; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. - 12 p.m., Saturday, March 16 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 5106 St. John Ave., KCMO 64123. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12 p.m. Interment in Mt. Washington Cemetery. Condolences may be offered at www.mcgilleymidtownchapel.com
