Rachel graduated from Hastings High School, moved to Kansas City in 1955, and worked at Paul’s Grill where she met her husband. They were married in Miami . . . Oklahoma on December 28, 1957. They started a family together in 1958. Rachel continued to help run the restaurant while raising a family.
Later in life, Rachel joined the healthcare industry where she made many friends at Kansas City Internal Medicine. She retired in 1996. In her retirement she enjoyed traveling to see family and new sites. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren in their various activities. Rachel’s favorite things were spending time with family and friends, drinking coffee, spending time at the casino, and smoking cigarettes.
Rachel was preceded in death by her parents Louis Van Brunt and Irene Finny-Van Brunt, sisters Ina Trotter and Francis Rhoades, brother James Beards, husband Paul Stubblefield, and son Chuck Stubblefield.
She is survived by her daughter Linda Williamson and son-in-law Paul Williamson, grandchildren Channa Beaton, Joe Williamson, Brooke Nebel, Ashley Drumwright, Cory Stubblefield, and twelve great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held at 10 A.M. on Friday, July 5, 2024 with a Celebration of Life to follow at 11 A.M. at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Harvesters, City Union Mission, or St. Jude’s.
