Po was preceded in death by his mother Ronghui Wu.
Po was born on May 17th, 1957 in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan as the youngest of four siblings. He graduated from Tatung University and made his way to America in 1983 to study electronic engineering at the University of Missouri. It is there he met his wife Pearl Lee, and in 1988 they were married. He moved to Kansas City, where he raised his two sons Daniel and Timothy.
Po was an incredibly loyal man, having worked for WattMaster Controls (now AAON) for over thirty years with his boss and friend Mike. He believed in hard work, and the contributions he made would be a testament of his character.
Po was continually driven to provide for his family, and he never stopped in his quest for knowledge. He was truly a scholar at heart and the hundreds of books in his basement illustrates this. Po was a simple man who enjoyed speed-watching Chinese dramas, hiking the peaks of Taiwan, and shooting the occasional Kareem hook shot. However, he is most known for his unrelenting passion for photography, practically never to be seen without his trusty camera. He loved taking photos of all his travels, capturing the breath of beautiful landscapes, documenting random alleys and river bends, and doing the Asian dad pose while taking pictures of his family (who sometimes begrudgingly oblige). Most importantly, he loved taking photos of his flower garden and showing them off to anyone within arm’s length. As we celebrate his life, please share your favorite photos from him, or of him, with the family.
He will be dearly missed by his family: his father, Tiangen, his spouse Yuan-Ju Huang (Pearl) Lee, his two sons Daniel and Timothy, his daughter-in-law Jessica, and his granddaughter Sophia.
A visitation for Po will be held Saturday, September 16, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer and Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64131.
