Phyllis Bukaty

Phyllis Lee Dressler Bukaty, 74, of Kansas City, MO, passed away July 7, 2011 at home. Services will be Thursday July, 14, 2011 at St Thomas More Church 11822 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO 64131. Visitation from 9:00-11:00am with Catholic Celebration of Life Mass at 11:00am. Burial in Mt Olivet Cemetery.

Phyllis was born December 5, 1936, at Providence Hospital in Kansas City, KS, the only child of Michael Leo & Josephine (Hannigan) Dressler. She was a 1954 graduate from St. Teresa’s Academy. November 26, 1955, she married Joseph C. Bukaty, Sr. Their lifelong union carried the benefit of 4 children, 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Throughout her life as a dedicated Mother and homemaker, she gave her time to various organizations within her church and her children’s schools. A member of Christ the King and St Thomas More Parishes, Ladies of Charity and Rockhurst High School Mother’s Club, where she donated a lot of time for many years to Sale-O-Rama, the Auction, Cookbook, as well as many other organizations. Phyllis enjoyed their many years of membership at Leawood Country Club, where she played Tennis and enjoyed chatting poolside with her many friends. Although she was an only child, Phyllis had two cousins John Hannigan and Colleen (Hannigan) Herman, whom, due to their Mother’s early passing, she grew up very close to and considered them like a brother and sister.

Phyllis is survived by her husband Joseph, of the home, four children, Joseph C Bukaty, Jr (Robin), Camdenton, MO, Michael Bukaty (Cathy), Winter Springs, FL, Juliana Bukaty, Kansas City, MO and Robert P Bukaty (Shannon), Kansas City, MO. Grandchildren RoseMaria Bukaty, Alana Bukaty, Caitlynn Bukaty, Phyllis Joie (PJ) Bukaty, Michael Bukaty II, Ryan Bukaty, Michaela Bukaty, Nicholas Bukaty and Emily Bukaty. Great Granddaughter Isabella Aquino.
