Peggy Sue Lamar

Peggy Sue Lamar, 89, of Raymore, MO, passed away October 2, 2012 at Kansas City Hospice House. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. followed by funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 6, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Rd. Burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery South. Memorial contributions may be made to Kansas City Hospice House and V.F.W. Mrs. Lamar was born November 3, 1922 in Kansas City, MO, daughter of George W. and Bessie (Short) Logan. She had worked for Remington Arms before retiring after 33 years of service. She and her husband sponsored numerous children over the years through Children International and Christian Children’s Fund. She enjoyed crocheting and doing crossword puzzles, also spending time with her grandchildren who she dearly loved. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years Ralph Lamar Jr. in 2010. Mrs. Lamar is survived by her son Jamie Lamar, Raymore, MO; daughter Shannon Gentry and her husband Bill, Raymore, MO; grandchildren Chris and wife Sandy, Danae and husband Jeff, Taryn and wife Lynda, and Jessica; great-grandchildren Taylor and wife Margie, Logan, Zachary, Justin, Trey and Tanner; and great-great-grandchildren Jaxson and Bella.
