Patsy Mae Millay

Patsy Mae Millay, 94 years young of Independence, Missouri passed away peacefully on May 28, 2023 with her loving family by her side. Patsy was born on May 23, 1929 to Garnett and Virgie Hill in Kansas City, Missouri. She graduated from De La Salle High School in Kansas City. While still in high school she started to work for Commerce Bank where she held many titles and positions of increasing responsibility starting as a Page and including a Bank Teller, Real Estate Specialist, System Analyst and an Auditor over the span of her 50 year career with that company. She saw many changes in the banking industry.

Patsy married the love of her life Wilfred S. Millay in 1971 and became part of his large family. She was embraced and loved by all. Patsy was a God fearing woman and was very active in church. Her love of singing lead her to be a part of many choirs. She was hard working and enjoyed spending time with friends and family.

Proceeding her in death were her parents, Garnett & Virgie (Hill) Nelson; Husband Wilfred (Bill) Millay and daughter Patricia Millay.

Leaving to cherish her memories include three daughters, Connie DePee and Rita Dodd both of Independence, Missouri, Connie (Bob) Humphreys of Mountlake Terrace, Washington, and one son Michael (Judy) Millay of Blue Springs, Missouri. Patsy was proud to know that she also left thirteen (13) grandchildren, twenty-seven (27) great-grandchildren, five (5) great-great grandchildren and one (1) great-great-great child.

Patsy has left a true Legacy. She will be greatly missed.
