Patrick Dean Kelly

Patrick is survived by his parents; Karen Corder and Dean Kelly, his stepfather Robert Corder, his brother Chris Kelly, sister Melissa Kelly-Bibb, sister-in-law Dora Kelly, niece Dallas Kelly, nephew Michael Kelly, great-nephews Braxton and Gannon, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and great-cousins. He is preceded in death by maternal grandparents Paul and Gloria Bass, paternal grandparents Dean and Maryanne Kelly.

Patrick was born in Kansas City, MO on July 12, 1970. He went to Hickman Mills High School where he graduated in 1988. He graduated from Southwest Missouri State University with a degree in Business Management. He attended the Kansas City, MO Police Academy from January – July 1996. Patrick attained the rank of Sergeant and served over 21 years with the Kansas City Police Department. He spoke fluent Spanish and participated in the Spanish immersion program with the KCPD. Patrick received his pilot’s license and had a love of flying. He enjoyed playing golf, riding his motorcycle, playing the drums, traveling with friends and home projects. He loved the outdoors, bird hunting, adored his dogs Sadie and Tipper, spending time with family, and spoiling his niece, nephew and great-nephews.

He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.

A visitation is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. with funeral services beginning at 11:00 a.m. on October 18, 2017 at Mount Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO 64131.
