Patricia was an amazing woman, a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. It's hard to put into words how generous and caring she was. Patricia loved Christmas and made the holiday more special for her grandchildren by making scavenger hunts for her grandchildren. She was an expert gardener, had beautiful gardens, and loved feeding birds. Patricia loved all animals and was a long-time volunteer with Animals Best Friends of Independence. She was also a volunteer with Head Start of Independence where she helped make personalized books for each child. Patricia enjoyed singing and sang with the Kansas City Symphony for many years. She made the world a better place, and will be missed by everyone who knew her.
Patricia was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Ellis Short, III and a grandson, Jonathan Short.
Patricia was a mother of 3 Julie Eller, Ellis (Eve) Short, IV, and John (Donna) Short; a grandmother of 5, Laura, Savannah, Aurora, and Ellis V; and a great grandmother of 5, Bailey, Brody, Lena, Ellery and Tucker.
