Pam was born on March 11, 1952, in Bakersfield, California to Paul and Pauline (Cuen) Henry.
Pam graduated in 1970 from Foothill High School in Bakersfield, California. She went to school for Home Economics for a short time passing down her cooking, home making, and creative skills to her kids. After high school she met Harold Ford at the Greyhound Bus Station in Bakersfield, California where she worked in the cafe, and he was a bus driver. They married and spent over a decade together raising their children, Travis and Stephanie. If you were to ask Pam, this union gave her two most precious and cherished gifts.
She started dating the love of her life, Tom Bailey, in high school in 1967. Life took them in different directions after high school, but their love proved everlasting when they reunited and married in February 1985. Together they built a wonderful life filled with love, laughter, and many adventures while traveling, raising their family, and cherishing many pets. They enjoyed spending time with their kids and grandkids and trying new hobbies together. They navigated life together side by side as best friends and soulmates.
Pam’s professional journey in finance included working many different roles in banking, as the District Director of Operations at a payday loan company and working in casino vaults.
Her passion for helping and love for animals guided her to volunteer at KC Pet Project, an animal shelter in Kansas City. Her love for animals also cultivated enjoyment working at PetSmart where she met all kinds of animals and helped fellow pet parents. Pam was incredibly creative and talented. She enjoyed crafting bears, dolls, and making clothes for loved ones in her free time even selling her crafts at fairs with her mother. A lifelong Disney aficionado, Pam found magic and wonder in the enchanting realms of Disneyland which became one of her favorite places to spend time with family and friends. If there was a question about anything Disney, she had the answer.
The beach held a special place in her heart, a serene space where she connected with the natural world. She found peace there by the water’s edge and enjoyed dipping her toes in the water while visiting her kids on the coasts in California and Florida.
Pam raised her kids with love and devotion while being a pillar of strength and support for them throughout life. She was always so proud of her kids cheering them on through life’s endeavors, no matter how big or small. As a mom and grandma, Pam embodied the essence of unconditional love, her open-minded and welcoming nature making her a confidante to all. She was always there to talk, to listen, to give a helping hand, or even just to give a big hug and let you know everything will be ok. She loved being a grandma and was amazing at it. She created beautiful relationships and a special bond with each of her three granddaughters. They were always delighted to see her and greeted her with big hugs. Her generosity extended beyond her family, touching the lives of many friends with thoughtful gifts and a heart full of love. She never missed celebrating an important occasion and was always there to support her family and friends with their passions and through difficult times. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and friend to many and she will be missed greatly.
