Ora Kenneth "Sparky" Nichols

Ora Kenneth “Sparky” Nichols, 99, Raymore, Missouri, passed away July 28, 2011 at John Knox Village Hospice House. Visitation will be from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday, July 31, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 1, at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 9420 James A. Reed Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64138. Mr. Nichols was born June 2, 1912 in Tiffin, Missouri, son of William and Carrie L. (Mann) Nichols. He was Business Agent-Cooks & Bartenders Union and President, Chefs-Stewards Association. He was a member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, served as Head Usher and was President of the Builders Class. Mr. Nichols was Executive Chef at the President Hotel in Kansas City, Missouri and retired as Head Chef and Assistant Manager of the Golden Ox in Kansas City, Missouri. He is survived by his wife Johnnie Nichols of the home; son Charles W. Nichols (Reba) of Kansas City, Missouri; daughters Louise Cox of Peculiar, Missouri, Kathy Dean (Leo) of Raymore, Missouri and Eileen Jones (Gil) of Raymore, Missouri; sister Josie K.
