Opal Marie Fritz

Opal M. Fritz, 93, passed away September 18, 2016. She was born December 4, 1922 in Wichita, Kansas to Charles Harry and Florence Opal Polk. Her mother passed away when she was six months old. Her early years were very difficult. At eleven years old her Uncle Joe & Aunt Cora took her into their home. For the first time in her life she was safe, secure & loved.

At age eighteen Opal married Homer Morris. He went to serve in World War II. She lived with her mother-in-law during that time. Opal was a lover of music and dancing. She loved to dance to Big Band Music.

Homer passed away in 1964. They had no children. In February 1965 she married Mr. Walter Fritz and became an instant mother to three children - Walter Fritz Jr., Amelia Kay & Peter Andrew. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Fritz Sr. and two sons, Walter Jr. & Peter Andrew. She is survived by her daughter & son-in-law Amelia and Wesley Antle, eight grandchildren & ten great grandchildren. Mom, go sit high on that mountain.

Visitation will be from 6:00-7:00 p.m. followed by funeral service at 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 23, at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Rd. Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
