Norman L. Cross died on January 31, 2022 in Overland Park, KS, of dementia-related issues. He was born on October 7, 1936 to Paul and Kathryn Cross in Joplin, MO and was raised in Ft. Scott, KS. He graduated from Pittsburg State. Norman had a career as a computer programmer/systems analyst for several companies. He loved visiting all 50 states, enjoying the commercial, entertaining and especially the historical sites. Norman hiked 22 of Colorado’s Rocky Mountains “14ers”, Mt. Whitney in California and the Grand Canyon eight times. With family and friends, he liked to hunt pheasant in Kansas and Iowa, deer and elk in Colorado and Wyoming. Norman really enjoyed visiting with people. All who knew him will miss his friendly and likable personality.
Norman was preceded in death by his youngest brother Bill. He is survived by Sandy, his loving wife of 63 years; brother Gary; three daughters, Terri Cross, Connie (David) Bryant, and Pamela (Jon) Pattin; and seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 12:00 PM Saturday, February 5 at McGilley State Line Chapel.
