Nancy was born in Kansas City, Missouri on July 13, 1950 to Evelyn Brown, who raised her along with her stepdad, Glen Brown.
Nancy graduated from Center High School and became a hairdresser shortly after. She then met Larry Wendel and the two were married on July 16, 1977. They had two children, Shelly and Jason.
Nancy was an active member of South Haven Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and made quilts. She was also very involved in the school and enjoyed being a room parent and helping teach children how to read.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Evelyn and Glen Brown, as well as her sister, Patsy Walker.
She is survived by her husband Larry Wendel of Belton, MO; daughter Shelly (Travis) Turner of Butler, MO; son Jason Wendel of Belton, MO; granddaughters Lily Wendel of Harrisonville, MO, and Ashlynn, Gracelynn, and Kaylynn Turner of Butler, MO; and grandson Jace Wendel of Belton, MO.
