Nancy was born on December 30, 1933 to Eva May and Albert Orville Isom in Raytown, Missouri. She grew up and live her entire life in Raytown, Missouri.
Nancy attended Spring Valley School through the eighth grade and graduated from Raytown High School in 1951. After school, she worked as a transcriber for a court reporter for 25 years, and the, retired and enjoyed doing ceramics and painting.
She was baptized on April 5, 1942 at nine years old at Marlborough Baptist Church in Kansas City, Missouri, by Brother Ben Morris.
Nancy and Frank Morris were united in marriage on August 17, 1951. Their love story began when they met at the Blue Ridge Roller Ring where Nancy worked. They were the first couple to be married at Spring Valley Baptist Church. They were married for 39 years until his death in 1991. Nancy was a charter member of Spring Valley Baptist Church. Both loved their church family and were very active members, helping to build the church both physically and spiritually. They would later renew their vows in November of 1987 with Brother Joe Porter in the Holy Lands.
Preceeding her in death were her parents Eva May and Albert Orville Isom; husband Frank, and siblings Eugene Isom, Albert (Corky) Isom, and Wanda Wendel.
She is survived by her daughter, Cathy (Fred) Peterson of Raytown, Missouri, son Bill (Connie) Morris of Fontana, Kansas; Grandchildren Bill (Debbie) Peterson of Odessa, Missouri, Jason (Andrea) Peterson of Raytown, Missouri, and Ryan and Brook Morris. Great Grandchildren; Cathlyn Peterson, Emilia Peterson, Brett Peterson, Waylon Peterson, and Grace Leibrecht. Many more nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Nancy loved her church and family. She enjoyed attending church services and singing in the choir. Spending time with family and friends brought her so much joy. She especially loved watching her great grandchildren in their many activities.
A visitation will be held Saturday, June 17, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Spring Valley Baptist Church, 8801 E 79th St., Raytown, Missouri 64138. The funeral service will be from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Spring Valley Baptist Church. A graveside service will be at Newcomer’s Floral Hills Funeral Home, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, Missouri 64133.
