Nancee Ann McNamara, 76 of Smithville, MO passed away November 5, 2011 surrounded by the love of her family. A Celebration of her life will be held Saturday November 12, 2011 at Mount Moriah Terrace Park Funeral Home, NW 108th Street and 169. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Visitation will precede memorial services from 3-4pm, memorial service at 4pm. Nancee was born on December 23, 1934 in Denver, CO. She graduated from Colorado Springs High School in 1952. She worked in the secretarial field. She met the love of her life Tim in 1956 and moved to Washington DC prior to his transfer to Germany. While in DC she worked for the FBI. Nancee and Tim were united in marriage on October 17, 1957 at Fort Meade, Maryland. They enjoyed 44 wonderful years together before his passing on June 29, 2001. Traveling the world as a military wife, she lived in Germany, Ft. Knox, Kentucky, Taiwan, Maryland and Kansas while rearing 4 children. After many years in night school she returned to school full-time and received her Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from UMKC in 1976. She worked for MAWD Laboratories for several years and went on to work for Children’s Mercy Hospital in the Allergy and Immunology Lab for over 15 years. She retired in 1997. Her love of horses began at an early age and she spent many hours riding in Colorado. She began competitive trail riding in 1981 and earned many ribbons and awards. Nancee was a member of New Mark Saddle Club and The North American Trail Ride Conference. She enjoyed life, nature and the wildlife that roamed her property in Smithville. She is survived by her children, Leigh McNamara Langston, Dennis Langston, Kelly McNamara Rainbolt, Steve Rainbolt, Kevin McNamara, D.D.S., Terry Coleman, Cathy McNamara Lewis, John Lewis, her only grandchild Kyle Timothy Hillhouse, her brother Jim Wright, his wife Karen and his daughter Jennifer. Sisters Sharon McClelland and husband Bill, and Marty Seese and husband Larry. Sisters-in-law Janet McNamara and family, Marcella Tenerowicz and family as well as numerous nieces and nephews in Colorado and on the East Coast and her beloved horses Kizzy and Kadaff. Nancee was a strong, independent woman, a loving mother and wife. She was a friend to all creatures great and small. May she rest in peace. Condolences may be sent to mountmoriahterracepark.com.
