Mike McDaniel

Michael L. McDaniel of Prairie Village, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at Kansas City Hospice House. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, September 21st, 7:00 p.m., at McGilley State Line Chapel. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m., to 7:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 3846 West 75th Street, Prairie Village, KS, 66208.

Mike was born November 27, 1943 in Kansas City, MO. He was a graduate of the University of Kansas where he received a BA degree in Math and Psychology. He served in the U.S. Air Force and went on to fly for Braniff Airlines. Later, Mike was a computer programmer for the US. Central Credit Union for 15 years. He never met anyone he did not like and loved to talk. He was generous with all. Mike was active in the Big Brothers program and throughout his life opened his home to those who needed assistance. Mike will be remembered for his great sense of humor.

Mike was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Mills and his step-father, Barton Mills. He is survived by his sister, Karin Mills, brother, Brian Mills and wife Marla and three nieces; Lauren, Jessica and Samantha Mills.
