Michael Marquez

John Michael Marquez, 23, of Kansas City, Missouri was brought into our lives on April 21, 1987. He passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2011. He is survived by parents John and Martha Marquez, sisters Nicole Cordova and Cristina Martinez, and niece Isabella Martinez. He is also survived by grandmother Victoria Marquez, brothers-in-law Justin Cordova and Wilmer Martinez, aunts, uncles, and many cousins. He is preceded in death by grandparents Juanita & Jose Garcia, John Marquez Sr. and Carlos Velazquez.

He was a talented and creative soul who loved to draw, cook, create music and write. He had a passion for getting and giving tattoos and eating! He played an important role in the lives of grandparents Juanita & Jose in their last years. He was loved more than we can express by many. We will always remember special moments and bonds we had with Michael; although his body died young, Michael will still walk with us each day. His laugh and spirit here on earth will be missed forever.

The visitation will be 5 p.m.-8p.m Friday, March 25, 2011 at McGilley Midtown Chapel, 20 W. Linwood Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64111 from. The rosary will begin at 6 p.m. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Kansas City, KS. The mass services will be Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Church, 5106 St. John Ave., Kansas City, MO 64123.
