Melvin Richard McConnell, 77, Hollister, MO passed away September 12, 2017 at Cox Medical Center in Branson, MO. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, September 15, at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Rd. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 16, at the funeral home. Burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.

Rich was born March 20, 1940 in Elk Falls, KS, son of John C. and Belma (Hoppes) McConnell. He enjoyed spending time with his family, RVing and traveling.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Fred McConnell, and grandchildren Brent Green and Jessica Bennett. Rich is survived by his wife Barbara (Baughman) McConnell; children Kim Green (Mark), Christy McHenry (Bob) and Kevin McConnell (Colleen); siblings Terrell McConnell, Mayda Hulburt and Helen Steiner; grandchildren Kaylee Green, Troy Green (Mallory), Courtney Wood (Joe), Dustin McHenry (Jessica), Tyler Bennett, Myles McConnell, Marshall McConnell; great-grandchildren Hayden and Connor Wood, Carson and Cheyenne McHenry; several nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
