Mary Ann Thomas, 91, of Fort Wayne, Indiana formerly of Mission, Kansas, passed away May 1 2021. She was the daughter of the late William and Marie (Lindquist) Helm. She worked as an administrative assistant for the Veterans of Foreign Wars National Headquarters retiring after 26 years. She was an ardent sports fan and rarely had anything except sports playing on her TV. She was a loyal follower and fan of the Chiefs and Royals and rarely if ever missed an aired game. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years Lloyd Thomas. In earlier years she enjoyed square dance clubs, water skiing and fishing . She thoroughly enjoyed their Lake of the Ozarks summer home they designed and built together and hosted many friends and extended family members over the years to share in that lake life. She was also preceded in death by her son Dan Thomas, her sister and brother-in- law Virginia and John Brooks. She leaves behind her son, Bob Thomas (Jan) Fort Wayne, Indiana. Granddaughter Angie Montgomery (Dustin) Danville, Indiana. Grandson Dr. Sean Thomas (Betsy) Fort Wayne, Indiana. Great grandchildren Sloane & Von Montgomery, Miles & Hudson Thomas.
Funeral services will be held at the DW Newcomer's Floral Hills Funeral Home 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd. Kansas City Missouri on Saturday May 8, 2021 with visitation at 10:00 a.m. and funeral services at 11:00 a.m.
