Mary Ann Mouzakis Roberts

Mary Ann Roberts, 85, longtime resident of the Kansas City, MO area died Thursday, August 25, 2011 at the KC Hospice House. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 30 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11822 Holmes Rd. Burial to follow at Mt. Moriah Cemetery, 10507 Holmes Rd. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Rd. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the KC Hospice House 12000 Wornall Rd., Kansas City, MO 64131. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Roy Ray, one sister and two brothers. She is survived by four children: Shirley Pinkerton (Pat), Michael Roberts (Mindy), Patty Roberts, Margaret Poole (Michael); five grandchildren: Jeff Pinkerton (Andrea), Jennifer Bessenbacher (Steve), Ryan Roberts, Dillon Poole and Emily Roberts; Five great-grandchildren: Sydney, Brett, Emma, Isabella and Ava Ray, and one brother, Charles Mouzakis. Mary Ann was born in Meta, Missouri on December 27, 1925. She retired with 25 years of service as a meat wrapper for Safeway. She was a devout Catholic, who contributed to numerous charities and served as a volunteer at St. Joseph Hospital. Mary Ann enjoyed flower gardening, puzzles, Elvis Presley, clowns, theater and books. She was a kid at heart who above all cherished her family.
