Mary Mulvey, 85, passed away November 17, 2013 at Brighton Gardens of Prairie Village, KS. The Mass of Christian Burial is 2:00 PM Friday, November 22nd at St Gabriel Catholic Church where a visitation will begin at 1:00 PM; burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions are suggested to Good Shepherd Manor or Immacolata Manor.
Mary was born November 25, 1927 in North Kansas City, MO. She began her railroad career as a Harvey Girl and later worked for the Santa Fe and Burlington Northern Railroads. She was a life-long union member. Mary volunteered for various Catholic organizations but especially R.E.A.C.H., Immacolota Manor, and Good Shepherd Manor which serves youth and adults with special needs. Mary was a former member of St Gabriel Catholic Church and the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. At St Gabriel she was active in the school PTA and the parish Altar Society. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, John Mulvey; son, Michael Joseph Mulvey; parents, Michael and Nellie O’Toole; brother, James O’Toole; and sister, Ellen Zamora.
Survivors include a son, John P. Mulvey and wife, Gay Miller, and their son, Carson of Kansas City, MO; a daughter, Maureen Fenlon and husband, Matthew, and their daughter, Maryrosaleen, Gladstone, MO; a sister, Kathleen Benson, Liberty, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews.
