Mary K. McBride, 90, of Leawood, KS went to be with her Savior and Lord on June 25, 2013. Her family surrounded her as she entered the gates of Heaven. Mary K. was born on October 25, 1922 in Kansas City, MO. She was the only child of Louis M. and Katherine A. Beebe. Mary K. grew up in Kansas City and Carrollton, MO. She graduated from Carrollton High School in 1940 and attended Central Methodist University in Fayette, MO.
During the war, Mary K. worked for the Quartermaster Depot as a Transportation Specialist. She continued to work there after the war, until her first child Sharon, was born in 1955. Mary K. met the love of her life, Robert C. McBride and they married on October 19, 1951. They were married for 54 years until Bob passed away in 2006. They loved being together, and enjoyed traveling the world together. They had two daughters, Sharon and Barbara, four grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
Mary K. was a loving mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed. She was a friend to many. She loved and cared so deeply for people, and ministered to them so well. She was a kindhearted, gracious, and selfless follower of Christ. Mary K. was an active member of Colonial Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed her many Bible Studies and small groups there.
She is survived by her daughters-Sharon K. Hammer (Ron) of Leawood, Barbara A. Dalbey (Jeff) of Leawood, her grandchildren- Katherine A. Hammer (Eric) of Overland Park, David M. Hammer (Lindsey) of Overland Park, Megan E. Clayton (Scott) of Shawnee, and Grant C. Dalbey (Hannah) of Kansas City. She also leaves two great grandchildren- Zachary and Lilly to carry on her legacy.
There will be a private family burial on June 26th. A Memorial Service is planned for friends on Sunday, July 28th at 3:00 p.m. at Colonial Presbyterian Church, 9500 Wornall Rd., Kansas City, Mo, 64114.
