Mary K. Marx, 94, of Lee’s Summit, MO passed away Friday, September 9, 2022. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Wednesday, September 14, at Guardian Angels Church, 1310 Westport Road, Kansas City, MO 64111. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Kansas City, MO. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 pm Tuesday, September 13 at the McGilley State Line Chapel where the Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Benedictine Sisters, Atchison, Kansas (www.mountosb.org) or Guardian Angels Church.
Mary Kathryn was born October 16, 1927 in Kansas City, MO to Thomas and Mary Ellen Noone who, along with her brother, Richard Noone, preceded her in death.
She was married for 63 years to Fred J. Marx who preceded her in death along with their son, Tom Marx.
Mary K. was a 1945 graduate of Bishop Lillis High School. She worked as a secretary in the insurance field until becoming a stay at home mom. Mary K. was a loved and active parishioner of Guardian Angels Parish her entire 94 years, volunteering as a member of the Altar Society, Parish Quilting Group, PTA, Ice Cream Socials, Trash to Treasure and many other church activities. She was also the Guardian Angels School Secretary for many, many years!
Mary K.’s survivors include her children, Barbara Webber and husband Russ, Janice McCunniff and husband Michael, Greg Marx and wife Tammy. The pride and joys of Grandma’s life, the grandchildren, Matt Webber and wife Katie, Eric Webber, Nick Webber, Ian Murphy and wife Denise, Mary Kate Hamilton and husband Jim, David McCunniff and wife Jessica, Erin Lane and husband Sam, Kelly McCunniff, Jessica Marx, Amy Marx and Courtney Marx. And the ones who always made her smile, her great grandchildren, Hallie, Madison and Jack Webber, Scarlett and Brooks Webber, John, Cecilia and James Hamilton, Abigail and Lincoln McCunniff, Mya and Sadie Lane.
Her memory as a wife, mother, grandmother, relative and friend will live in our hearts forever. She was an amazing lady!!!
