Mary L. Hargrove

Mary was born October 24, 1927 in Russellville, Missouri to Flora and Roy Woodard. She grew up on a farm with six sisters and one brother and attended school in a one- room schoolhouse. She spent some of her young adult years in Florida and St. Louis before settling in Kansas City. On January 14, 1951, she married Marvin Hargrove. Mary was a computer operator for several years at Shaffer Enterprises, Inc., when IBM computers filled several rooms and operated with punch cards and magnetic tape reels. She loved to frequent garage sales and enjoyed buying and selling garage sale items and antiques.

Her husband, Marvin, and her son, Alfred Brent, preceded Mary in death. She is survived by daughter, Marla Brownlee of Nehalem, Oregon, and sisters Dora Schreiner and Jane Cobleigh, both of Kansas City.
