Mary Ann Brennan (82), of Overland Park, KS, entered God’s kingdom on June 29. 2023, after an arduous 4-year battle with metastatic breast cancer. She was born January 2nd, 1941, the only daughter of Wallace & Dorothy Riley, of Ft Scott, KS. She is preceded in death by both of her parents, a son, Michael Anthony Yocom; two brothers, Ronald & Paul Riley and one grandson, Samuel Inman.
Mary Ann was a devoutly faithful Christian and a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, and sister-in-Christ. She is survived by one daughter, Dona (Yocom) Inman; by six grandchildren: Michael, David, Dorothy, Abram, Elijah & Cora Inman; by three great-grandchildren: Rachel, Brayden & Layla Inman, and one brother, Richard Riley.
Her willingness to sacrifice, support, forgive and love her family & friends will be forever remembered, by all who knew her. Her testimony of Christ, in her own life, will continue to be a beacon in many hearts. She was a diligent student of the Bible, every day of her last 40+ years. She loved gospel music, was a published author & poet and a good photographer too. The publication of her first & only book , "The Unveiling of His Amazing, Amazing Grace" (Watchmaker Publishing, 2003) is a special testament to her wisdom, understanding and eagerness to share Christ. Since 1964, Mary Ann was a force to be reckoned with professionally. She was well respected in her fields both regionally & nationally. She worked as an executive secretary at Joseph Schlitz Brewing Co and Wilcox Electric in KCMO, & King Radio in Olathe KS. Back in the 70’s, she was co-owner of Paloma Sales Co in Raytown, MO. She and her partner were the first woman-led distributorship of electronic testing equipment and hand tools in the U.S. She was founder & editor of “M.I.N.K” (Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas) a professional association with a publication that worked to establish professional standards, for physician recruiters working to bring new physicians to the Midwest.
She loved and was forever promoting Kansas City (Johnson County, KS) as the best place in the entire country to live, for its beauty & culture.
