A rosary will be prayed at 9:45 AM Wednesday, Sept 12th, with visitation from 10:00 - 11:00 AM and Funeral Mass beginning at 11:00 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 4737 N Cleveland, Kansas City, MO 64117; burial in Resurrection Cemetery, Kansas City, MO.
Mary Lou Branson was born on December 15, 1928 in Hamilton, MO. On April 28, 1951, Mary Lou was united in marriage with Virgil Branson. Together they were blessed with five children. She was a loving mother, devoted wife and homemaker. Her life centered around her family. Mary Lou enjoyed flower shopping, bird watching, bowling, playing games, and any activity shared with loved ones. She loved to cook and made the best fried chicken and coconut meringue pie! She was a member of St. Gabriel’s Altar Society and worked at Clay County elections.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Virgil Branson; her parents, Lloyd & Nellie Dolan; brothers, Jim Dolan, Dean Dolan, and Jerry Dolan; and a sister, Marge Farr.
Survivors include her children, Debbie Rector, Mike Branson (Jan), Cindy Gensler (Larry), Tim Branson (Jan), Tom Branson (Debbie); grandchildren, Mindy Avants, Ryan Avants (Kristen), Jacob Branson, Faith Branson; great-grandchildren, Rae Antone, and Olivia Avants
