Mary June Leighton Anderson

Mary June Anderson, 61, of Greenwood, Missouri, passed away on September 11, 2011. A Celebration of Mary’s Life will be held from 6:00-7:00 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 15, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road. Mary was a lifelong resident of Jackson County. She was preceded in death by her parents Clem and Minnie Leighton and sister Cynthia Bailey. Mary leaves behind her loving husband of 23 years Howard Anderson; son Scott Anderson of Blue Springs, Missouri; daughter Katy Marcks and son-in-law Joshua of Archie, Missouri; and stepdaughter Amy Kapsalis and son-in-law Billy of Kansas City, Missouri. She also leaves behind her brother Henry Leighton and wife Catherine of Independence, Missouri; sisters Sue Anne Plank and husband Bill of Salem, Missouri, Nancy Armstrong of Mesa, Arizona, and Sidney Siren and husband Jeff of Destin, Florida, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Mary also leaves behind her three young grandsons, whom she adored, Hunter Anderson, Brecklen Marcks and Thomas Kapsalis. Her spirit will float amongst her family forever. She will be greatly missed.
