Marvin was born April 12, 1938 in Belton, Missouri and lived in Jackson County his entire life.
His parents, Delbert and Maurine Brown proceeded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Diane Brown of the home; 2 daughters, Kitty Waltz and husband Jim of Kansas City, Missouri and Candy Ogle and husband Tom of Kearney, Missouri. Marvin had 5 grandchildren and 2 greatgrandchildren, a sister, Judy Brown and husband, Ron Brown of Lee's Summit, Missouri and many nieces and nephews and friends.
He graduated from Lee's Summit High School in 1956 where he excelled in band and played several instruments. He was employed by Western Chandelier as a salesman for many years, previously he had worked from Kroger and the Fairmont Dairy.
Marvin had a passion for flying and earned his private pilot’s license and flew out of the Independence airport for many years. He was affectionately known as Beetle Bailey. He was known for his 55 Chevy with flames and pin stripping and spend many an evening at the old Kansas City Drag strip on Front Street.
He was a member of the Holiday Boat and Ski Club and taught many young people how to water ski and participated in Water Ski Shows. He and his wife enjoyed camping with their children and spent time at the lakes in Missouri. Marvin was a member of the EFDA in Lone Jack and participated in working for the betterment of the Lone Jack School where his children went to school. He and his wife were square dancers and danced with Sante Fe Trailers, Van's Fans, and Richard's Renegades. Marvin was frequently seen with a camera around his neck, taking pictures of his family and friends.
A visitation will be held from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday July 5 at 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Mt. Moriah Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64131. A private burial will be at the Brown Cemetery on July 6th.
