Mark Daniel Pence

Dan passed away on June 10, 2023 at his home in South Kansas City, Missouri, after succumbing to a short battle with cancer. Dan was raised in various small rural Missouri communities, before his family settled in Appleton City, Missouri, where Dan graduated from High School. Dan then attended the University of Central Missouri graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice. Upon graduation, Dan began a career in Insurance Claims Adjusting, Supervision and Management, beginning with Missouri Farm Bureau, retiring from EMC Insurance Cos., as a claims supervisor in 2022. Dan enjoyed family gatherings, friends and attending sporting events. We will miss Dan’s engaging, warm personality, sense of humor and wise advice. Dan was preceded in death by his father Reverend Charles Pence and his mother Joyce Constance Pence. Surviving family members include his wife Carol, Jonsy Pence (son) Justin Shafer (stepson), and his brother Stephen (Rusty) Pence and two sisters, Judy Pence and Karen Pence Ruggles.

A celebration of life for (Dan) will be held Saturday, June 24, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Elks Lodge, 13600 Arrington Road, Grandview, MO 64030..
