Marjorie Hornby Porter

Marjorie Hornby Porter passed from this world to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on June 13, 2017 at the age of 82. Marjorie was born in Radcliffe, England on December 8, 1934. She was the daughter of James Towers Hornby and Evelyn Spinks Hornby (both deceased). She met and married US Air Force serviceman John Richard Porter while he was stationed in Warrington, England. They were married February 14, 1953 in the little village of Ringley, England. Marjorie’s husband John preceded her to be with the Lord, as did her oldest son Tony and grandson Ryan. She was loved by all, and her home was often filled with neighborhood children, and of course, her beloved dogs. Marjorie leaves behind her sister Dorothy; sons Stephen (Lori Anne) and Richard; grandchildren Justin, Marjorie (Ian), and Jeremiah (Vanessa); great-grandchildren Rhylan and Marjorie III; and nieces and nephews. The service will be held Friday June 16, 2017 at Mount Moriah Freeman Funeral Home South, 10507 Holmes Rd, Kansas City, MO, with visitation at 6:00 p.m., and service at 7:00 p.m. We hope you can join us to celebrate her life and the love she showed all of us! There will also be a graveside service on Saturday, June 18, 2017 at the Lees Summit Cemetery, 806 SE 3rd St, Lees Summit, MO at 10:00 a.m.
