She grew up in Albany, MO and eventually settled in Raytown, MO where she started a family with her husband of 25 years, Jim Woods. She met some wonderful people while in Raytown including her best friend, Vicki Cates. Marilyn enjoyed spending her time with her children and friends. She was at every softball game and school function. She was known to most as “mom.” She spent the last years of her life in Pleasant Hill, MO near her kids and grandkids.
Marilyn had a passion for cooking and baking, and her homemade dishes were always the highlight of family gatherings. She would spend countless hours in the kitchen making Christmas candy to share with friends and family.

Her love and compassion extended to all those who knew her, and she will be remembered for her smile and warm personality.
